16 March 2011SIOUX CITY -- James Lee Saleh, 61, of Sioux City passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Lunch will follow the services at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home Resource Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. James was born May 22, 1949, at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Saint and Nellie (Torrez) Saleh. He attended school at St. Joseph's and Heelan. James moved to New Orleans in the 1970s and worked on the oil rigs and as a glazer. He returned to Sioux City in 2006. James worked in the maintenance department at Wal-Mart. He was looking forward to his retirement in May of this year. He enjoyed fishing and driving his car.
Survivors include three sons, James Saleh of Tennessee, John Saleh of Illinois, and Jamie Robinson of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Leigh Saleh of Pensacola; three grandchildren, Toni Smith, Dylon Smith and Joshua Pugh; two sisters, Beatrice and Thomas Johnson and Frances and Ronald Cummings, all of Sioux City; his stepmother, Mabel Saleh of San Diego, Calif.; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Manuel.
