15 March 2011SERGEANT BLUFF -- Brody Grant Freking, 14, of Grimes, Iowa, formerly of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 from injuries suffered in a motocross accident in Sedalia, Mo.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. today at Grimes United Methodist Church and 3 p.m. Thursday at Sunnybrook Community Church, Sioux City, with the Rev. Jeremy Grant officiating at both. Private family burial of his cremains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Brody was born May 7, 1996 in Sioux City to Chuck and Shelly (Baker) Freking. He attended Sergeant Bluff-Luton Schools from kindergarten through third grade and third grade through ninth grade at Dallas Center Grimes Schools.
Brody enjoyed fishing in Canada, playing the guitar, motocross, basketball, boating and tubing. He especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Brody is survived by his parents, Chuck and Shelly and his brother Camden of Grimes; paternal grandmother, Betty Freking of Le Mars, Iowa; maternal grandparents, E.B. and Sandy Baker of Sergeant Bluff; 14 aunts and uncles, Mary and Rick Juhl of Le Mars, Diane and Rick Baack of Le Mars, Steve and Cayla Freking of Whitewater, Kans., Don Bouma of Le Mars, Randy and Lisa Freking of Le Mars, Christy and Todd Siders of Castle Rock, Colo., Dale and Lise Freking of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Jeff and Annette Freking of Kingsley, Iowa, Dean and Julie Freking of Milton, Mass., Jerry and Rebecca Freking of Fort Washington, Mo., Doug and Jennifer Freking of Cumming, Iowa, Angie and Dennis Meister of Tulsa, Okla., John and Carla Baker of Sergeant Bluff, and Shayla Baker of Sioux City; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herman Freking; aunt Mary Freking; aunt Linda Bouma; and his great-grandparents.
