9 March 2011SIOUX CITY -- Paul Vincent Meloy, 66, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Saturday, March 5, 2011, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Iowa Army National Guard. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Paul was born Dec. 17, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of John C. "Jack" and Bernice (Murphy) Meloy. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School, where he participated in basketball and track. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. Paul was a commodity broker for REFCO Commodities for many years.
Paul enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards and most of all spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Holly M. Kenny and her husband, Tom of Dakota Dunes, S.D., and Jackie Dodds and her husband, Lee of Sioux City; his mother, Bernice Meloy of Sioux City; and four grandchildren, Tommy, Jacob and Kate Kenny and Jennavieve Dodds.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Meloy.
