24 April 2011SIOUX CITY -- Bonnie Reed Hyslop, 83, of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2011, after a lengthy illness.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Green Valley Community Church.
Bonnie was born and raised in Sioux City, the daughter of Fred and Clara Reed. She graduated from East High School in 1945 and attended Western Union College in Le Mars.
She married Owen Winkler in 1947 and had one son. In 1962, she married Lloyd Britton. She worked at First National Bank for many years, retiring as vice president of personnel prior to her move to Arizona in 1995. Following her husband's death, she married Robert Hyslop in 2000.
Bonnie was a passionate advocate for the disabled and loved writing, traveling and living her Methodist faith.
She is survived by loving husband, Bob; son, Kirk Winkler and wife, Arlene; stepchildren, Lee Hyslop and wife, Mary, Terry Hyslop and wife, Jan, Rita Thompson and husband, Marc, Ruth Hockstra and husband, Gary, and Peter Hyslop and wife, Sue. Also surviving is her sister, Dora Posey of Sioux City; grandson, Chris Winkler and wife, Amy; granddaughter, Jennifer Hofer and husband, Kirk; five great-grandchildren; and nephew, Guy Posey and wife, Lynn.
Memorials in her name may be sent to St. James Methodist Church, 2032 S. Cypress.
