SERGEANT BLUFF -- Lois E. Lunda, 71, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at a local hospital.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3713 Green Ave., Sioux City. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Waterbury Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Lois was born June 22, 1939, in Belden, Neb., to Otto H. and Marjorie A. (Soverign) Case. She graduated from Belden High School in 1957. On Nov. 8, 1958, Lois married Melvin Lunda in Yankton, S.D. They moved to Sioux City in 1963. Lois worked as an office manager for Dr. James Eisele D.C., and Dr. Jason Zwartman D.C. from 1979 to 1993.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, college basketball, hockey and NASCAR, and telling others about God's hope for mankind. Lois was an active member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Lunda of Sergeant Bluff; her son, Michael Lunda and his wife, Nancy of Sergeant Bluff; her daughter, Donna Altheide of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brothers, Larry Case and his wife, Mary and Lyle Case, both of Sioux City; sisters, Loretta Cook and her husband, Clyde of Belden, Neb., and Lynette Carlsen of Sioux City; grandchildren, Trent and Melanie Altheide, Tayleigh Burkard, Amy Lucas and Amanda Richters; and great-grandchildren, Riley Lucas, Alyssa and Alex Richters.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; stepbrother, James E. Donner; and mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Florence Lunda.
