SIOUX CITY -- Bernard Donald Beaver, 69, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at a Papillion, Neb., hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Oscar Perez officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson, S.D. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.

Bernard was born June 17, 1941, in Jefferson, the son of Orlando R. "Roy" and Kathryn E. (Ryan) Beaver. He graduated from Jefferson High School.

He was employed as a truck driver for D&D Beverage Company in Sioux City.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He was a very hard worker, loved camping and boating, NASCAR races and watching Husker football. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with this family. He will be sorely missed.

Survivors include two sons, Bernard B. (Terri Jo) of Sioux City, and Matt of LaVista, Neb.; three daughters, Katherine (Allen) Cole of Ankeny, Iowa, Christine Ahrens of Elkhorn, Neb., and Sandra (Troy) Johnson of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, James of Hacienda Heights, Calif., and Earl of Omaha; a sister, Kathryne Morel of Mason City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, Katie Joe, Kelsie, Ryan and Rylie Beaver, Drew, Alex and Zachary Cole, Amanda and Candace Ahrens and Seth, Gracie and Hunter Johnson; and a great-granddaughter, Aubrie Mohr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carl, William, Thomas and Dewey; and two sisters, Rosaline and Mary.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Drew, Alex and Zachary Cole, Seth and Hunter Johnson and Ryan Beaver.
