SIOUX CITY -- Robin Glenda Mary Barker, 55, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Akron (Iowa) Care Center.

Services will be 7 p.m. today at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Jean Morse of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. The body was cremated. Visitation will be one hour prior to services today at the funeral home. Online condolences may be posted at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Robin was born April 2, 1956, in Aurora, Colo., the daughter of Dickie and Sonja (Olson) Steele. She received her GED. She graduated from Middleton Junior College in Sioux Falls, S.D.

She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

She was a member of Sioux City Catholic churches. She was baptized at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include her mother and adoptive father, Sonja and Carroll Sigaty; two daughters, Mary Sigaty-Adams of Sioux City, and Sonja Barker of Sioux City; a son, Roy Barker II of Sioux City; a sister, Stasia Sigaty-Elgert and her husband, Dale; two half sisters, Carrie Steele and Tarrie Steele; a brother, Mark Sigaty; two half brothers, Kelly Steele and Richard Steele Jr.; 11 grandchildren, Anthony Walter Sigaty, Gabriele, Jakkari, Marvin Jr., Zion, Robin, Nicolynn, Treyshawn, Damien, Torina and Roy; a lifetime friend, Victoria Crooks of Akron; and a niece and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Robert Sigaty; her grandparents; and a niece.
