SIOUX CITY -- Richard J. Neuroth, 67, formerly of Sioux City, loving husband, father and grandfather, left us after a four-year battle with lung cancer on April 18, 2011, in Virginia Beach, Va.

A celebration of life service will be June 18 in Wichita, Kan. Burial will be in Emmit Cemetery, Beresford, S.D.

Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 in 1961. He served 12 tours of duty during Vietnam with VF 11, the Red Rippers. After retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1981, he worked for Cessna, Wichita Air and Hydraulic, and Boeing. He retired from Boeing in 2000.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jeanne-Marie; his children, Daniel (April), Katleen (Frank), Angela (James), Teresa (Wes) and Trevor (Ashley); nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tim of Sioux City, and Mike of Seattle, Wash.; and four sisters, Sharon of Yuma, Ariz., Judy of St. Paul, Minn., Mary of Omaha, and Patricia of Seattle.
