.SIOUX CITY -- Alyce (Kann) Blackshear, 75, of Hacienda Heights, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Feb. 20, 2011.

Services were held April 12 in Hacienda Heights. A memorial service is being planned at the Queen of Peace.

Alyce "Joyce" was born Jan. 3, 1936, to Fred and Mary Kann. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Bishop Heelan in 1954.

She married Jerry Blackshear in Corpus Christi, Texas. They moved to California and made their home there. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service, many of her years as a supervisor, and retired in 1998.

Joyce is survived by her children, Tom of California, Brian of Texas, and Meghan of California; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; her Sioux City family, two sisters, Donna and Harry Kobes, Marilyn and Steve Hoberg; and a brother, Roger and Sharon Kann; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Fred.
