SIOUX CITY -- Michaelyn M. Abraham, 61, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at a local care facility.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff, with the Rev. Johnny Hill officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday in Congregational Cemetery near Santee, Neb. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Michaelyn was born in Winnebago, Neb., on Nov. 22, 1949. She attended and graduated from Sioux City community schools. Following her high school education, she enrolled in beauty school in Lincoln, Neb. She then returned to Sioux City, where she did hair styling, as well as working for Russell Stover Candies, and Goodwill Industries.

She was an enrolled member of the Santee Nation. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a huge fan of Elvis.

She is survived by her mother, Antoinette Abraham of Sioux City; her companion, Heath Burns of Sioux City; one son, Corderro Simpson of Sioux City; three brothers, Michael (Kim) Henshaw, Kim (Jane) Henshaw, and Kent (Sherry) Henshaw; along with many other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Henshaw.
