..SIOUX CITY -- Nanna Nyonia Tighe, 90, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at a local hospital after a short illness.

Services will be 4 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brother Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Monsignor Roger Augustine officiating. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Nanna was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Sioux City, the daughter of Frederick J. Rose and Minnie Mae Miles. She graduated from high school in Little Sioux, Iowa.

On May 16, 1944, she married David C. Tighe in Pender, Neb. The couple made their home in Sioux City in 1963. She worked in housekeeping for the Holiday Inn and then at the Hilton Inn for 17 years. Her husband died on Jan. 22, 1996 in Sioux City.

Nanna enjoyed baking and loved to try new recipes. She also enjoyed playing cards and crafts. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors include four children, Nyonia Roberts-Evans and her husband, Fred Evans of Richland, Miss., Dennis Tighe and his wife, Doris of San Antonio, Texas, Delores Price and her husband, Michael of Jackson, Mich., and Kathleen Speth and her husband, Steven of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren, Tammy, Sherry, Mark, Michelle, Kenneth, Kerrie Sue, Jason, Michael, Stephanie, Selena, Sean and Summer; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; a son, Daniel Tighe; a brother, Ira; and three sisters, Geraldine, Catherine and Elizabeth.
