.SIOUX CITY -- Roy Eugene Peterson, 63, of Greeley, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Jan. 26, 2011, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Augustana Lutheran Church, 600 Court Street, Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services in Greeley. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adamsonchapels.com.

He was born Sept. 25, 1947, in Sioux City, to Earl and Gladys (Fink) Peterson. Roy grew up on a farm in Sioux City and attended the University of Iowa and obtained his masters degree from the University of Utah.

He married Jane Andruska in 1970 and lived and worked in Salt Lake City as a stock broker. After the untimely death of his wife he moved to be closer to family in Greeley.

Roy was crazy about Harley motorcycles and was able to discuss any sports event.

He is survived by his sisters, Jana (Fred) Woods-Coffman of Omaha, Nora Elexpureu of West Valley City, Utah, and Iva (Dale) Robins of Greeley; his brother, Sam (Mary Jo) Peterson of Houlton, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
