SIOUX CITY -- Chet Joslin, 87, Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Sioux City, passed into eternal life on Feb. 21, 2011.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.

Chet was born in Laurel, Neb., on Jan. 26, 1924. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radio operator.

Chet was married to Charlyne Wyant on Sept. 26, 1946. He graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City in 1951. Chet spent 35 years as a real estate broker and land developer in Sioux City. The family then moved to Overland Park, Kan., in 1985, where he continued selling real estate.

He earned the designation of Realtor Emeritus from the National Association of Realtors in 2005. Chet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stilwell. Chet was a proud, dedicated and loving family man, who will be profoundly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Charlyne; children, Laura (Terry) Johnson, Jerry (Lisa) Joslin, Susan Joslin, and Danny Joslin; five grandsons, Brad, Kirk, and Dane Johnson, Andy Jackson, and Eddie Gartland; two granddaughters, Sarah Forleo and Jordan Gartland; five great-grandchildren; brother, Dwight Joslin; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice House.
