SIOUX CITY -- Cecil Wayne Morgan, 77, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Jan. 24, 2011.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel in Mesa. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the chapel.

Cecil was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Sioux City, to Martin Luther and Clara Violet (Johnson) Morgan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served on the USS GEN W A Mann. After that he went to work for Crescent Electric in Sioux City, and subsequently General Electric for 38 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bette Morgan; daughter, Liz (Jerry) Loewenhagen of Gilbert, Ariz.; granddaughter, Stephanie Loewenhagen (Jason Dean) of Chandler, Ariz.; grandson, Nick Loewenhagen of Gilbert; great-granddaughters, Katelyn Dean and Khloe Dean of Chandler; brothers, Robert (Mildred) Morgan of Mesa, Lyle Morgan of Sioux City; a sister, Dorothy (Cecil) VanderWeil of Sioux City; uncles, Al (Bev) Morgan and Jim (Louise) Morgan of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard (Vera) Morgan, Harold (Jean) Benson and Homer (Addie) Morgan; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Morgan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be donated to the American Cancer Society or the Sunshine Acres Childrens Home in Mesa, AZ. 85215.
