9 January 2011SIOUX CITY -- Donald Earl Hillman, 82, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, in Mesquite, Nev.

Donald was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Sioux City, to John Walter and Ione Boggess Hillman. Donald grew up in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army.
On Sept. 12, 1959, he married Lei Lani Gene Shepp in Ottumwa, Iowa. He went to work for Bechtel Corporation, a worldwide construction company. As he rose through the company, he had the opportunity to live in many countries throughout the world, and many cities in the United States. He was a hard worker, very knowledgeable, and well respected.
Survivors include his wife, Lani of Mesquite, Nev.; two sons and one daughter, John of Peru, Darci (Michael) Tackett of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lance (Tonya) of Pueblo, Colo.; and one grandson, Trace.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one granddaughter.
