Gary Clark Fuehrer, 62, of Sioux City died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, in Sioux City.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Brad Pelzel of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Visitation will be 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m., at the funeral home.

Gary was born July 30, 1940 in Butte, Neb., the son of Richard J. and Clara (Tappe) Fuehrer. He came with his family to Sioux City in 1942. He came to Mid-Step Services and NPI in 1999. He worked for New Perspectives, Inc.

He was a member of Mid-Step Services Believers Choir. Gary enjoyed his friends at his work and his supervised home. He liked riding horses, camping and participating in Special Olympics.

Survivors include two brothers, Richard Fuehrer of Corona, Calif., and Robert Fuehrer of West Minister, Calif; two sisters, Claire Kent of Algonquin, Ill. and Marie Whitead of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and six brothers.
