Donald E. Countryman

Donald E. Countryman, 70, of Sioux City died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Larkin Northside Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Batchelor officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery in Moville, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be noon until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Countryman was born July 21, 1930, in Moville, the son of Delbert and Millie (Hendricks) Countryman. He was raised in Moville. He farmed in the Moville and Rock Branch areas. He married Winnie Bolles on Dec. 28, 1950, in Moville. She died Feb. 26, 1999, in Sioux City. He moved to Sioux City in 1990.

He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Donald and Lynn of Hatboro, Pa., and Michael and Ellen of Belmond, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Luanne and Dell Norton of Sundance, Wyo., and Patti and Pat Clark of Irvine, Calif.; three sisters, Fern Kumpula of Correctionville, Iowa, Delores and her husband, Morrie Harrison of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Marilyn Breffle of Ankeny, Iowa; two brothers, Lloyd Countryman and Willard and his wife, Lois Countryman, all of Moville; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother, Lawrence.
