25 August 2010SIOUX CITY -- Sarah E. McWilliams, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at a local nursing home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenny Hsu officiating. Private family graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Sarah was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Sioux City, to Arthur and Margaret (Schieur) Grieve. She attended school in Sioux City. She was married to Kenneth McWilliams on July 21, 1934, in Elk Point, S.D.
She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, quilting, reading, cooking, spending time in the garden and canning. She was an avid traveler, traveling to every state except Hawaii and Alaska.
Survivors include her daughter, Bev Larsen of Sioux City; a son, Tim (Deb) McWilliams of Sioux City; two brothers, Charles (Betty) Grieve and Don Grieve, all of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 45 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; a son, Lyle; a daughter, Gloria; a son, Ronald; and seven siblings.
