SIOUX CITY -- David A. Keleher, 54, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at his residence.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The funeral service will be conducted by Karl Luther. The family wishes to invite you all to a luncheon following the funeral service to be served at Riverside Park Shelter 3. Online condolences may be sent to meyerbroschapels.com.

David, the son of Ronald D. and Lavonne (Wonder) Keleher, was born Feb. 6, 1956, in Sioux City. He received his education in the Sioux City Community Schools.

David married Penny Keleher on Sept. 25, 1980, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple have been lifelong Sioux City residents. David was a co-owner of Alignment Technologies in Jefferson, S.D.

David had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. He hunted in several places, including Canada, Montana, and Oklahoma. David also enjoyed riding his Harley. He was such a generous man, who always looked to help others and was known as Uncle Dave to many because he was a caretaker to everyone. David loved to cook and took pride in his talent, serving some of the best fish fries his family had ever had. He was a very adventurous man who was always very full of life.

David is survived by his wife, Penny of Sioux City; six sons, David (Tracy) Bailey of Smithland, Iowa, Joe Peterson of Beaumont, Texas, Aaron Peterson of Sioux City, Nick Keleher of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Brandon Keleher of Yankton, S.D., and Brent Keleher of Sioux City; two brothers, Ronald L. Keleher Sr. of Sioux City, and Kevin K. (Louise) Keleher Sr. of Sioux City; two sisters, Sheryl Prins of Sioux City, and Gayelynne Flanders of Sioux City; two brothers-in-law, Jeff (Debbie) Davis of Sioux City, and Jack Worden of Sioux City; 17 grandchildren, Dylan, Derik, Brooke, Erik, Aleya, Caydan, Jaydon, Skyler, Trevor, Destiny, Daniel, Dylan, Logan, Hailey, Shaii, Frankie, and Gage; his very special nephew, Ronnie Keleher Jr. aka Bonnie Little; many nieces and nephews; three beloved dogs, Joe, Baby, and Banjo; and two cats, Midnight, and Stormie.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Misty Keleher; one brother, Steve Keleher and his wife, Renee; and one brother-in-law, Paul Prins.

Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Shawn Willett, Don Keleher, Ron Keleher, Jr., Jim Ringler, Blake Simon, and Daniel Adamson.
