SMITHLAND, Iowa – Lynne J. Wulf, 75, of Smithland died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at an Omaha hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Willman Funeral Home in Rodney, Iowa, with the Rev. Karen Handke officiating. Burial will be in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences at pearsonwoodwillman.com.

Lynne Joan Wulf, daughter of William Albert and Ruby Elizabeth (Waggner) Nelson, was born July 13, 1935 in Kiron, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth.

On April 9, 1954, Lynne was united in marriage to Arlo C. Wulf in Kiron. To this union four sons and two daughters were born. The couple moved to California in 1957, and returned to Kiron in 1966. They moved to Onawa in 1972 and to Whiting in 1981. Lynne worked as a certified nurse's aide at the Onawa Care Centre, then at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting for 30 years. She retired from Pleasant View 10 years ago. After Arlo passed away on April 8, 1990, Lynne moved to her present home in Smithland.

Lynne enjoyed bingo, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and camping and fishing with Arlo and family. She collected Holstein cow knickknacks.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Lynnette Johnson and husband, John of Kincade, Kan., Patrick Wulf of Whiting, Iowa, Tony Wulf of Whiting, LaDonna Wulf and fiance, Rod of Bronson, Kan., and Russell Wulf and wife, Karen of Danbury, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Indorf of Springdale, Ark.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlo in 1990; son, Michael in 1977; three brothers, Bob, Bill, and Lee; and two sisters, Faye and Jessie.
