SIOUX CITY -- Ardis O. Johnson, 83, formerly of Sioux City and Glendora, Calif. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug.7, 2010 at ClareBridge Assisted Living in Everett, Wash.

Memorial service will be Aug. 16 at Grace Church of Glendora, Calif. Interment will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City.

Ardis was born in Sioux City on July 31, 1927. She graduated from East High, and later married William (Bill) Johnson on Aug. 3, 1947, in Sioux City. Years later, they moved their family to Southern California. Bill went to be with the Lord in 1988.

Ardis always enjoyed working in an office environment, and spent her working years as a secretary, office manager and payroll accountant. Before moving to California, she had worked for Armour and Swift, in Sioux City, and was working in the payroll office at Swift the day of the explosion in 1949.

Ardis loved spending time with her family and friends, camping trips and motorcycle riding on the back of Dad's bike, playing games and eating out and studying her Bible. Church and her relationship with the Lord were central in her life, and she served the Lord all her life in a variety of areas.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Laurie Johnson of Michigan; her daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Pat Wang of Washington; and her grandchildren, Ashley, William and Alexa Wang of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her mother; and grandparents.
