8 August 2010SIOUX CITY -- Donald Roy Plantz, 60, of Stockton, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died July 30, 2010, at his residence.

Donald Roy Plantz was born Dec. 17, 1949, in Sioux City, the son of Alvin and Helen Plantz. He moved to California after graduating from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He worked various jobs including Mohawk Pubber in Stockton, Monray Roof Tile in French Camp, Calif., and Hysol in Pittsburg, Calif.
He was an avid card player.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Plantz of Stockton; a brother, Jon (Janet) Plantz of Modesto, Calif.; sisters, Sandra (Jack) McKenna of Lincoln, Calif., Donna Dutton (Ken) of Stockton, and Debi (Faron) Booth of Marion, Ohio; a niece and many nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Plantz.
