SIOUX CITY -- Russell J. Edwards, 44, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, from injuries suffered in a truck accident near Fonda, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Park, Shelter 4, in Sioux City. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Russell was born Oct. 9, 1965, in Sioux City, the son of John and Paula (Fleming) Edwards. He attended West High School and later took courses through Western Iowa Tech Community College.

Russell was united in marriage to Debby Hirschauer on Sept. 14, 2007. Russell was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and NASCAR enthusiast who loved the outdoor life and tinkering with computers. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his beloved family and many friends and will sorely be missed by all who knew him.

Russell is survived by his wife, Debby; his daughter, Ashley Edwards; two stepdaughters, Jami and her husband, Chuck Vanderham of Albert City, Iowa, and Mandie Hirschauer and her fiance, Andy Ramos of Visalia, Calif.; a brother, Philip Edwards and his wife, Heather; two sisters, Anna and her husband, Tom Abbe, and Christine and her husband, Clyde Walker, all of Sioux City; his father, John Edwards and his wife, Jolene; two grandsons, Matt and Luke Vanderham; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; as well as a very close friend, Brad Burnight.
