SIOUX CITY -- Leonard L. Shannon, 57, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Becker- Hunt Funeral Home, with his brother Mick Shannon officiating. Following the service Friday, there will be a gathering with the family at Tom Foolery's, 1008 Fourth Street, in Sioux City. Visitation will be noon until service time Friday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Leonard was born Nov. 21, 1952, in Sioux City, the son of Paul and Marjorie Ellen (Barnes) Shannon. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none.

He was a family person and loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters, Kellie and her husband, Larry Ayers of Omaha, Kindra Shannon Taylor of Papillion, Neb., Kristi and her husband, Jeramy Reed of Sioux City, Christina Shannon of Gatesville, Texas; three brothers, Mick Shannon of Herriman, Utah, Dennis Shannon and his companion, Donna Mae Schutt of Randolph, Neb., Tim and his wife, Lori Shannon of Hinton, Iowa; a sister, Debra Shannon and her companion, Bob Wortman of Sioux City; 20 grandchildren; and special friends, who called him Papa, Niki Smith, Jaxson and Joshua Reed and John UitDeFlecsh.
