ANTHON, Iowa -- Lois J. Ahrendsen, 84, of Anthon passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at the Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center in Correctionville, Iowa.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Sheryl K. Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service today at the church. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville is in charge of the arrangements.

Lois J. Ahrendsen was born March 1, 1926, to Leon and Ednah (Cecil) Strawn, in Correctionville, Iowa.

She was married to Charles W. Ahrendsen on April 12, 1950. To this union four children were born, David, Greg, Melinda, and Kevin.

Lois was a member of the Eastern Star, enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her children, David and wife, Marcie Ahrendsen, Greg Ahrendsen, Melinda and husband, Roger Pry, and Kevin and wife, Dawn Ahrendsen; seven grandchildren, Brook, Stephanie, Emily, Ashley, Matthew, Derek, and Katie; and five great-grandchildren, Caylee, Shaelyn, Aiden, Carrissa and Aaron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Ednah; her sister, Irene; and her brother, Gene.
