24 October 2010CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa -- Gordon R. "Doc" Sadler, 89, of Fountain Hills, Ariz., formerly of Correctionville, passed away Oct. 16, 2010.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hansen Desert Hills Chapel in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Gordon was born in Correctionville on March 1, 1921. He moved to Southern California in 1940 and served honorably in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He relocated to Arizona in 1959 and worked in purchasing prior to retiring in 1983.
His hobbies included beekeeping and big band music.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mayellen Sadler and sons, Scott Sadler of Phoenix and Phil Sadler of Tempe.
Family encourages donations to Hospice of the Valley.
