SIOUX CITY -- Shirley M. Roehrick, 88, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Shirley was the daughter of Lester and Edna (Larson) Holt born on Sept. 22, 1922, in Sioux City. She was a member of the first graduating class from Leeds High School in June 1941.

Shirley married George "Red" Roehrick on April 1, 1944, in South Sioux City. The couple were lifelong Sioux City residents. During Red's retirement they spent the winter months in Phoenix, Ariz. After Red's death, Shirley worked for Martin Evergreen Bowling Alley and Dunn and Bradstreet.

Shirley enjoyed reading and spending time with her nieces. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Shirley is survived by one son, Gary (Mary) Roehrick of Northridge, Calif.; two grandchildren, Ann Lowery of North Hills, Calif., and John Roehrick of Northridge; one great-grandson, Matthew Lowery; one brother, Lester Holt of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Phyllis Krause of Le Mars, Iowa; one half brother, Don Holt of Sioux City; and two stepbrothers, John Meier of Sioux City, and Gene Meier of California.
