SIOUX CITY -- M. Marguerite Rainey, 73, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at her residence.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Jerome Cosgrove officiating. Burial of her cremains will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Marguerite was born May 18, 1937, in Walthill, Neb., to Henry Edwin and Leona Elizabeth (Wyatt) Minton. Marguerite graduated from high school in Sioux City, and earned her nursing degree from Briar Cliff University. She was employed as an RN by St. Luke's and was an associate professor at Mount Marty College and Morningside College.

Marguerite was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially with her grandsons. Volunteering was very important in her life. She enjoyed donating her time to the Ronald McDonald House and CASA.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Bob) Smith; two grandsons, Jeremiah (Angie) Collins and Carter Henry; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn, all of Sioux City; a brother, Garry Minton of Whiting, Iowa; and three sisters, Karma Conry and Kathy Olsen, both of Colorado, and Tracie Minton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Henry Lee and Dennis Minton.
