SIOUX CITY -- Marilyn D. Grohs, 79, of Sioux City passed away Nov. 10, 2010, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Hsu officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 4 to 6 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Marilyn was born on Jan. 21, 1931, in Sioux City, to Alfred and Mary (Karlstad) Miller. She grew up and attended Sioux City schools. She graduated from Central High School in 1949.

She married Raymond Grohs on Feb. 28, 1953, in Sioux City, and had been a lifelong resident of the Siouxland area. She was employed with Genelli Studio, working with the Exchange printing (touch-ups). She was also a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Marilyn enjoyed flowers, gardening, family events, cooking and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond of Sioux City; two daughters, Denece and Dennis Buckridge of Fremont, Neb., and Linda and Nick Dittman of South Sioux City; a son, Darin Grohs of Sioux City; and two grandchildren, Stephen and PFC Joshua Buckridge.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Linea Walden, Helen Seibold, Vera Miller, Berniece Miller, Dagmar Miller, Vivian Miller and Deloris Frauenfeld; and brothers, Glen, Earl and Gerald Miller.
