LAWTON, Iowa -- John W. "Bill" Glover, 81, of Lawton passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at a Sergeant Bluff care facility.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, with the Rev. Cynthia Ripperger officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Bill was born July 25, 1929, in Lawton, to Ernest and Gertrude (Johnson) Glover. He grew up, attended school and remained a lifelong resident of the Lawton area.

On July 1, 1950, he married Dorothy Jane Finley in South Sioux City. He was a farmer in the Lawton area and drove truck for Glover Trucking. Dorothy passed away on Nov. 23, 1997.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed tinkering, his children and grandchildren, visiting with family and friends, traveling, board games and going out to eat. He also enjoyed collecting pens and baseball caps.

Survivors include his son, Mark Glover of Sioux City; two granddaughters, Brandi Glover of Sioux City, and Carli and David Milby of Indianola, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Madisyn and Summer Milby; a daughter, Randy Tracy of North Sioux City; a daughter, Toni and David Cooper of Moville, Iowa; three grandchildren, Traci and David Weinreich of Tennessee, David Jon Cooper of Moville, and Amber and Jason Allyn of Holstein, Iowa; and two sisters, Ester and Edgar Flamming of Sioux City, and Venona and Lenard Schneider of Kennewick, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bud, Jay and Dick Glover.
