SIOUX CITY -- Gail Youde Jones, of Sheridan, Wyo., formerly of Sioux City, died at Sheridan Manor Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010.

Graveside services will be held in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, in the spring of 2011. Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan has been entrusted with the local arrangements.

Gail Youde Jones, was born to Guy C. And Zelma (Cobb) Youde on Jan. 11, 1911, on a farm near Sutherland, Iowa. She graduated from Sutherland High School in 1928 and nurse's training at the Methodist Hospital, Sioux City in 1932.

She married L.H. "Heinie" Jones on Aug. 18, 1935. They lived in Sioux City until his death in 1999. She worked as a private duty nurse in hospitals and doctors' offices. In 2004, she moved to Sugarland Ridge Assisted Living Facility in Sheridan, Wyo.

She did volunteer work for St. Luke's Hospital, Samaritan Home, Florence Crittendon Home and Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Sioux City since 1935, PEO chapter HZ and Shrine Auxiliary. Gail was a loving wife, mother and friend, an accomplished cook, seamstress and hostess, and a positive influence on all. She will remain in the memories of her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Haight (Roger) of Sheridan, Wyo.; son, Mark M. Jones (Lynn) of Los Alamos, N.M.; grandchildren, Tamara Jones-Trumbull (Lyle) of Bala-Cynwyd, Pa., Sharon Jones of Sacramento, Calif., Kyle Haight (Anne) of San Jose, Calif., Kevin Haight of Tempe, Ariz.; great-grandsons, Neil and Miles Trumbull of Bala-Cynwyd, Pa.; cousins, Hallie and Dorothea Cobb of Primghar, Iowa; and 17 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Delmar C., Lyle L., and Roger D. Youde.
