SERGEANT BLUFF -- Leo C. Reinart, 91, of Sergeant Bluff passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Community United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be in King Cemetery, Vail, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Leo was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Roselle, Iowa, the son of John and Emma (Shack) Reinart. He attended country school. Leo helped his father delivering coal and also drove semi-trucks.

Leo was married to Ruth Benischek on Oct. 29, 1948, in Lake City, Iowa. They moved to Sioux City and in the mid-1980s, moved to Sergeant Bluff. Leo worked for the Armour Packing Plant for 28 years.

Leo is survived by his two sons, Dean Reinart and his significant other, Toyna Waldman of Emerson, Neb., and Lee Reinart of Sergeant Bluff; one daughter, Dorene and her husband, Harold Schoenherr of Spink, S.D.; five grandchildren, Mark Schoenherr, Martin Schoenherr, Ruth Darboe, Roger Schoenherr and Dale Schoenherr; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher Darboe, Joseph Darboe, Angel Darboe, Zachary Schoenherr, Regena Schoenherr, Cheyenne Waldman, Dalen Schoenherr and Andrew Schoenherr; and one brother, Melvin Reinart of Florida.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents; one grandson, Rodney Reinart; two sisters, Cletta Huffman and Elvira Spore; and three brothers, Clarence, Hubert and Harold Reinart.
