SIOUX CITY -- O.C. Reed, 81, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at a local hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

O.C. was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Red Bluff, Ark., to the late Mr. Ben Franklin and Mrs. Leeb Williams. He left Red Bluff at a young age and spent several of his early years in Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Ark., and later moved to Omaha. It was in Omaha where he joined Robinson Memorial Church in Christ. He spent most of his later years in Omaha with his sister, Colzatta and a long list of friends before moving to Sioux City with his son, Willie.

O.C., or "Pops," enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to the blues, gospel music and sitting on the porch playing his guitar.

The master and king of kings called upon O.C. from his labor on Dec. 7, 2010, saying it was time to rest.

O.C. leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Clozatta Williams of Omaha; his son, Willie Reed of Sioux City; two daughters, Rosemary Reed and Dianne Reed-Clark, both of Redford, Mich.; and host of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
