.SIOUX CITY -- Joelene K. Conaway, 55, of Sioux City passed away at her residence.

There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Joelene was born April 18, 1955, in Sioux City, to Joseph Stanley and Clara Inez (Vinderslev) Conaway. Joelene grew up in Bronson, Iowa and graduated from Lawton-Bronson in 1973. In 1973 and 1974, Joelene and a friend hitch-hiked to California, and she had the time of her life. She moved to Sioux City and worked at Zenith for several years.

Joelene then had Clarice Erin. While Clarice was a baby, Joelene went to nursing school at Western Iowa Tech Community College and became an LPN. Several years later, she became a registered nurse. Joelene married Craig Holder 23 years ago, they later divorced but he stayed in her life and was very supportive.

Joelene was involved with the Red Cross. She loved to shop and watch TV. She was a loving mother and an adoring grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Clarice Conaway and her significant other, Dan of Sioux City; brothers, Jay Conaway and his wife, Sandy of Murray, Neb., Clayton Conaway and his wife, Jeanna of Plattsmouth, Neb.; sisters, Valerie Conaway-Cote and her husband, Ed of Sioux City, Kay Livingston and her husband, Roger Wagoner of Seattle, Wash., Marty Elswick and her husband, Chris of Lamar, Mo.; two grandchildren, Shea and Kyloni Conaway; and her ex-husband, Craig Holder.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to the family of Joelene Conaway, in care of Waterbury Funeral Service.
