Anthon, Iowa—Emma C Godbersen, 92, of Anthon died Thursday, December 19, 1996, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Michael Harman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Anthon. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.
Mrs. Godbersen was born October 30, 1904, in Wallsbull, German, to Peter and Caroline (Christianson) Petersen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She attended school in Strukum, Germany, and found work as a homemaker in her area. In 1928, she came to the United States. She worked in Anthon. She married John Godbersen ion December 27, 1935, in Sioux City. They farmed in the Anthon area until their retirement in 1975. He died June 26, 1982. Mrs. Godbersen moved into Anthon in 1985, and became a resident of Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Correctionville in 1992. She enjoyed her flowers.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon, and the Ladies Aid at the church.
Survivors include one son, Marvin of Anthon; two sisters, Clara Kamm of Quimby, Iowa, and Sophie Marxen of Germany; one granddaughter, Caroline Barnes of Anthon; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson; one great-grandson; two sisters; and three brothers.
