30 May 2010SIOUX CITY -- Elizabeth G. Carlson, 93, of Sioux City passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, at a local nursing home.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Elizabeth was born Dec. 24, 1916, in Sioux City, the daughter of Elmer and Clara Mae (Irwin) Woodward.
She married Oscar Carlson, who preceded her in death in 1969. Elizabeth worked in sales for J.C. Penney and Younkers until retirement.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Elizabeth loved to golf and travel with her sister. She also enjoyed her computer.
Survivors include her brother, Charlie Wise of Hemet, Calif., and her nephews, Robert and wife, Olivia VanMaanen, David and wife, Jean VanMaanen, Charles Howard VanMaanen, Leon VanMaanen and Mike and wife, Linda VanMaanen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters; and five brothers.
