CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa -- Barbara Ann Miller, 68, of Correctionville passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Grace Lutheran Church of Correctionville, with the Rev. Andrew J. Carlson Sr. officiating. Burial will be at the Cushing Cemetery, Cushing, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m., at the Grace Lutheran Church of Correctionville. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Ann Miller, the daughter of William and Alma (Tack) Hummel, was born Nov. 7, 1941, in Ida Grove. She graduated from Schaller High School in 1959.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked on the family farm, was the church secretary, a Sunday School teacher, and a librarian in the cities of Cushing and Correctionville. She also found much enjoyment spending time with her family and friends, reading, knitting, playing the piano and accordion, quilting, beadwork, dancing, playing cards and crossword puzzles.

Barb is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lawrence; five daughters, Margaret Tarbill of Worthington, Minn., Toni (David) Kracht of Peterson, Iowa, Ann (Jim) Albers of Cushing, Lori (Mike) Peterson of Cushing, and Linda Miller of Correctionville; one son, CW (Judy) Miller of Cherokee, Iowa; six grandsons, Logan and Bryan Boyle, Ben Lau, Steven and Johnathan Galvin and Noah Peterson; three granddaughters, Jamie Peterson, Shelbey Lau and Sarah Galvin; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Alex and Claudia; a sister-in-law and her husband, Bernice and Clarence Todd of Quimby, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Clarence and Eula Miller; two sisters, Wilma "Pat" Winkler and Velma "Short" Anderson; and a nephew, William Winkler.
