SIOUX CITY -- Jean H. Schoeneman, 94, of Sioux City died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the Revs. Curtis Moermond and Torey Lightcap officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to meyerbroschapels.com.

Jean H. Schoeneman was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Sioux City, the daughter of Carl and Evelyn (Bower) Haakinson. She graduated from St. Mary's Hall in Faribault, Minn., in 1934 and attended Russell Sage College.

She married Forest W. Schoeneman on Jan. 22, 1938, in Sioux City. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and the Junior League of Sioux City.

Survivors include a son, Tim and his wife, Betty of Dakota Dunes; a daughter, Jan and her husband, George Bergeson of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandsons, Tim Bergeson and his wife, Heather, Brad Bergeson, Adam Schoeneman and Christian Schoeneman and his wife, Katie; and four great-grandchildren, Henry, Hailey, Hunter and Evan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister; and three brothers.
