SALIX, Iowa -- Rosalie Wilt, 83, of Salix passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Pleasant View Assisted Living in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, with Monsignor Mark Duchaine and the Rev. Patrick O'Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Scripture prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Rosalie was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Salix, the daughter of W. Henry and Louise (Copenhaver) Lamoureux. She was raised in the Salix area and attended St. Joseph Catholic School. After graduation, she owned and operated Rosalie's Cafe in Salix until her marriage.

Rosalie and Delbert W. Wilt were united in marriage on Aug. 21, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix. The couple made their home and raised their four sons in rural Salix. She enjoyed farming with Delbert and found there was no task she couldn't conquer. Delbert passed away Sept. 9, 2000. She stayed on the farm until moving into Whiting.

She was a terrific cook and treated her family and friends to delicious food. It was a real treat to anyone to have a piece of her pie.

She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Merry Moms and Sloan Golf Course. Her life evolved around raising her four sons, enjoying their families as they grew and the delightful times with her grandchildren. She loved cooking, playing cards and golfing. One of her proud memories was winning the Sloan Ladies Golf Championship.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Maurice D. and Cathy Wilt of Salix, Raymond H. and Carol Wilt of Gainesville, Fla., and Michael and Rhonda Wilt of Sloan, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Judy Lidgett of Bronson, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Stacy, Aaron, Angie, Ann, Katie, Ryan, Daniel and Jon; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter (Peenie) Lamoureux of Omaha and Duane "Duke" (Pat) Lamoureux of Sioux City; three sisters, Shirley Copple of Sloan, Charlotte (Harold) Mook of Memphis, Tenn., and Jean Ann (Kenneth) Heidbrink of Le Mars, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Allison Holdcroft of Onawa, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, Delbert, she was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis M. Wilt; a grandson, Steven Wilt; a granddaughter, Jenna Rose Wilt; two sisters, Janet Lamoureux and Mary Louise (Harold) Kallin; a brother, Buddy Lamoureux; and a brother-in-law, Merlin "Pete" Copple.
