ANTHON, Iowa -- Marcia J. Luckel, 52, of Anthon died peacefully surrounded by her family and friends Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsley, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m.Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, Iowa, with the Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. followed by the rosary, all at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon. Visitation resumes 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Marcia Jean Luckel was born May 21, 1957, at Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Donald LeRoy and Rita Jean (Stortz) Luckel. She grew up and was educated in Le Mars and Kingsley until 1967, when the family moved to Anthon, where she continued her education. She worked at Swift Packing, Winn-A-Vegas Casino and most recently at Subway in Moville, Iowa.

Marcia was the kind of energetic personality that was loved by all. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon.

Survivors include a brother, Mike Luckel and his wife, Pam, of Le Mars, Iowa; a sister, Mary Luckel of South Lake Tahoe, Nev.; a brother, Tom Luckel of Anthon; two nieces, Tiffany and Jordan; two nephews, Jonathan and Justin; four grandnephews, Isac, Wyatt, Cole, and Garrett; along many good friends, co-workers, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Rita; and a brother, Pat.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Kingsley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their professional and compassionate care.
