.HORNICK, Iowa -- Charles Barry Cox, 65, of Hornick passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant View. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Barry was born Jan. 3, 1945, in Hornick, the son of Mervin and Vera (Lulow) Cox. He was raised in the Hornick area and graduated from Westwood High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1966. He drove truck until ill health forced his retirement.

Survivors include his mother, Vera of Whiting, Iowa; two brothers, Ed of Des Moines and Aaron and his wife, Linda of Salix, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and his friend, Lanette West of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mervin; a brother, Alan; and his uncle, Cecil Lulow.
