SIOUX CITY -- James Victor Clausen, 66, of Sioux City went to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 25, 2010, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Storm Lake, Iowa, while on his way home from doing what he loved best: attending a music festival.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Revs. David Zerepel, Russell Senstad and Steve Benson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Jim was born on Jan. 12, 1944, in Bloomfield, Neb., to Victor and Frieda (Wiese) Clausen. He graduated from Bloomfield High School. After graduation from high school, he attended Wayne State University and received his associate's degree from WIT. He was married to Gloree Nissen on Feb. 20, 1971, in Wayne, Neb. Jim worked in the bills, material and formulation department at Wells' Blue Bunny. He retired in 2007.

Jim was very strong in his faith. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed Gospel Bluegrass Music, attending music festivals, and he loved to play his Dobro Resonator Guitar.

He is survived by his wife, Gloree Clausen of Sioux City; two daughters, Gretchen Clausen and her special friend Joe Simpson of Dover, Del., and Natalie (Terry) Clausen-Meyers of Davenport, Iowa; brother, Dale Clausen of Madison, Neb.; sister, Janet (Dale) Lubker of West Point, Neb.; brother, Tom (Karen) Clausen of Rapid City, S.D.; sister, Judy (Fran) Pratt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; mother-in-law, Olga Nissen of Wayne, Neb.; and a brother-in-law, Mitchell Nissen of Wayne. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Edward Nissen.
