SIOUX CITY -- Gracia Maxine DeCora Peeples, 69, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Native American Church in Winnebago, Neb., with Morgan Earth officiating. Burial will be in Rave Cemetery at Winnebago. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Gracia was born June 2, 1941, in Winnebago, Neb., to Leon DeCora and Edna Thomas. She attended school in Winnebago, Pipestone, Minn., Wapheton, N.D. and Flandreau, S.D.

She was united in marriage to Noah Peeples. Gracia was a housewife and homemaker.

She was a member of the Native American Church in Winnebago.

Survivors include her husband, Noah Peeples of Sioux City; sons, Michael and wife, Patty Shaw and Levin Nichols, all of Sioux City; daughters, Coleen DeCora of Sioux City, and Anne Goodshield of Bloomington, Minn.; grandchildren, Tanner, Jon and Erica Shaw, Danielle and Rochelle Bliss, Caleb Springer and Roberta Dale, Courtney, Clarissa and Carlie Nichols and Anthony Goodshield; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Fountain of South Bend, Ind.; a nephew, Eldon Fountain; a granddaughter, Anissa Rose Fountain; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harry Thomas, Robert Masquout and Daniel Crowe; and a grandson, Joshua Daniel Nichols, in infancy.

Pallbearers will be Tanner Shaw, Jonathon Shaw, Caleb Springer, Craig Irving, Bruce Crow and Lawrence Crow.
