SIOUX CITY -- Patricia "Pat" A. Lambert, 71, of Sioux City made her transition from this physical existence to that of spirit Thursday, July 22, 2010, while surrounded by family, to be with loved ones waiting on the other side, in the home she shared with her family after a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Family will be accepting visitors one hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral home.

Pat was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Ashton, S.D., to John and Edna (Bloomhall) Oberle. She attended Ashton High School and Central High School in Omaha. It was in Omaha where she met Paul Neal Sr. and married him in 1956 and in 1958 was blessed with a son, Paul, and a precious daughter, Paula in 1960. Pat married Dean Click in 1962, and Dean adopted Paul and Paula. From this union of 1962, the couple was blessed with a beautiful daughter, DeAnn. Pat's "baby girl" was born in 1970, Robbie Porter.

In 1982, she met the love of her life, Wilbert Nelson of Sioux City. They spent many happy years together and loved to get out on the road and travel and go on many adventures together. During their years together, they both were involved with the Marine Corp League, until Willie's onset of Alzheimer's that he ultimately succumbed to in 2006, leaving emptiness in Pat's heart that was never again to be filled.

Pat worked as a bookkeeper and office manager. She worked at Rogers Electric from 1972 to 1978. She worked as an administrative assistant for the director of Civil Defense from 1978 to 1982, until the inception of FEMA when Civil Defense was disbanded. She later worked for Commercial Temperature as an office manager from 1983 to 1990. Her last job was at MCI-Telequest from 1990 until her retirement in 1998.

Pat loved her children more than anything and made many sacrifices for them over the years. The loss of her son in 1998 devastated her. Pat loved to sew. She made many outfits for her kids while they were growing up, then started making quilts and hanging towels. It soon became a tradition for her to give towels or quilts for birthdays and Christmas. She was sewing up until the end with patches and mending waiting for grandma's special touch. She loved to get into the car and go. She especially loved to go with her dear friend, Maral Mittel, whom she referred to as her Velcro sister and they had many fun times together. Pat had many friends and those who knew her sassy personality will miss her greatly.

Pat leaves behind her three loving daughters, Paula Jetter of Sioux City, DeAnn Click of Littleton, Colo., and Robbie Porter-Risdal and her husband, Robert of Sioux City; brother, Jerry Oberle and his wife, Elaine of Greeley, Colo.; nine grandchildren, who will miss her very much, Misty Jetter and her significant other, Joe Montgomery, Will Jetter, Isabella Porter, Gianna Rackham, Genna Rackham, Ayla Risdal, Noah Risdal, all of Sioux City, Benjamin Grote and Jacob Grote of Littleton, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Mercedes Frederick, who lovingly referred to her as "big grandma" and Drezden Montgomery, who didn't get the chance to know her, both of Sioux City.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; son, Paul; and beloved husband, Willie Nelson.

The family would like to thank their team at Hospice of Siouxland, Michelle, Julie, Kay, Chaplain Mike and Sister Julie, and her health aide from St. Luke's, Paula.
