SIOUX CITY -- Frank J. Kowalski, 74, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial of his cremains will be held at a later date in Minto, N.D. There will be no visitation.

Frank was born on July 2, 1936, to Frank J. and Beatrice (Perkerwicz) Kowalski in Minto, N.D. He married Mavis Gilliam on April 21, 1967, in Pasadena, Calif. Frank worked as an automotive manager for years at Sears.

He is survived by his wife, Mavis Kowalski of Sioux City; a son, Jared; a daughter, Deidra; four stepchildren, Miles (Lori) Carrington of Ontonagon, Mich., Deborah Hopkins of Dakota Dunes, Gloria (Les) Brookes of Sioux City, and Rebecca Carrington of Prescott, Ariz.; stepgrandchildren; and four sisters, Marian Loerzel of Perham, Minn., Phyllis Mac Intosh of Thief River Falls, Minn., Bette Schwartz of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Sharon (Tom) Fee of Grafton, N.D.

He was beloved by family and friends; he will be missed.
