Funeral Services Held Saturday For Neil K. Manker

Funeral services for Neil K. Manker, 90, of Moville were held Saturday June 2, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. in Dickison. Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley with the Rev .Marvin Ceynar officiating. Interment was in the Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville.

Mrs. Betty Rhue was organist and played the selection “In The Garden.”

Casketbearers were Messrs. Greg, Larry, Kirk and Jason Manker, John Weaver and Kevin Vargason.

Mr. Manker was born August 18, 1899, in Kingsley, the son of Louis and Margaret (Kurtz) Manker. He moved with his family as a child to the Moville area and attended rural school. On March 8, 1927, he married Bernice Weaver at Correctionville. The couple farmed their entire married life in the Moville area.

Mr. Manker died Thursday May 31, 1990 in a nursing home in Sergeant Bluff.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bob and his wife, Vicki and Darrell and his wife, Willa Lee, all of Moville; a daughter, Frances Vargason of Amarilllo, Texas; two sisters, Fern Murray of O’Neill, Nebraska and Florence Weinreich of Kingsley; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer and Laurence; a sister, Clara; and a son-in-law, Wayne Vargason.
