COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Arlene Mae (Carrell) Plummer, 64, of Council Bluffs died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill G. Muller officiating. Burial will be in Westfork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Arlene was born May 27, 1941, at Carson, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Florence (Roush) Carrell. As a child, she moved with her family to Climbing Hill, where she grew up and attended school.

Arlene married Wayne Plummer on Oct. 12, 1957, in Climbing Hill. Together they made their home in Council Bluffs. She raised her children and in later years was a child care provider.

Arlene loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, embroidery and arts and crafts. She will be missed by her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl and her husband, Dave Andrews of Norwalk, Iowa; a son, Chuck and his wife, Julie Plummer of Brandon, S.D.; two granddaughters, Megann and her husband, Randall Grissom and Kelsey Plummer; four grandsons, Josh Andrews, Jake Andrews, Ben Plummer and A.J. Plummer; a great-grandchild, Jordan Andrews; special friend, Everett Vannier of Council Bluffs; a brother, Roy and his wife, Patty Carrell of Sioux City; and four sisters, Joyce and her husband, Phillip Sanderson and Bonnie and her husband, Alex Johnson, all of Hornick, Iowa, Sharen and her husband, Bill Leaverton and Karen and her husband, Kenny Snyder, all of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Larson; and a brother, Marvin Carrell.
