Luella J. Olson, 70, Sioux City, died Tuesday (Feb. 26, 1991), at a nursing home in Plattsmouth, Neb., due to Lou Gehrig's disease.

Services were held Monday at Riverside United Methodist church. The Rev. Alex Washington, interium pastor, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery, under direction of the Christy Morningside Funeral Home in Sioux City. Visitation and a prayer service by the Ladies of the Moose service were held Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Olson, the former Luella Brown, was born April 24, 1920, at Elk Point, S.D. She moved to Sioux City in 1925 and graduated from Central high school in 1939. She married Raymond H. Olson Feb. 25, 1939, in Sioux City. He died June 25, 1987. She had worked for Zenith Corporation for 10 years. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist church, the Women of the Moose, Lodge 431, the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles' Aerie 2492, and the Girls of 68.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Merlin and Ellen Olson of Plattsmouth; a daughter, Marlys Themka of Papillion, Neb.; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Etta) Doherty of St. Scott, Kan., Mrs. Emit (Leona) Claussen of Bella Vista, Ark., and Patricia Clark of Sioux City; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lloyd "Larry" Brown of Mesa, Ariz.. Marvin "Bud" and Patsy Brown and Walter and Rosie Brown, all of Sioux City, two sisters-in-law, Stella Beaubien of Westfield, Ia., and Mrs. Robert (Elaine)Michael of Akron, la.; a brother-in-law, A.W., and wife, Opal Hummel of Bella Vista, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Madonna, and a sister, Eunice.
