Edward A. Jahn

Anthon, Iowa—Edward A. John, 85, of rural Anthon, died Friday, August 21, 1992 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Anthon with the Rev. Don Maple officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mr. Jahn was born May 27, 1907, near Oto, Iowa, the son of Gust and Christina (Bremer) Jahn. He married Florence J. Petersen January 8, 1929, at Dakota City; he farmed west of Anthon and drove a truck for his brother and for Cavanaugh Feed. He worked for the Woodbury County Fair in Moville.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Harold and Marlene of Mission, Kansas, Kenneth and JoAnn of Moville and James and Marilyn of Anthon; two daughters and their husbands, Beverly and Kenneth Fredrickson of Moville and Barbara and Ralph Frese of Sioux City’ three brothers, Theodore, Alfred and Harry, all of Moville; two sisters, Minnie Sargent of Kingsley and Emma Haring of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
