Donald H. Kee, 89, of Sioux City died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Smithland Cemetery in Rodney, Iowa.

Mr. Kee was born Sept. 3, 1911, in Rodney, the son of Israel and Delores Kee. He graduated from Rodney High School.

He married Louise Shoning on Aug. 31, 1938. He served in the U.S. Navy as a carpenter mate first class with the 122nd U.S. Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees), stationed in New Caledonia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He was employed with Amours Packing Plant for 12 years as a carpenter. He was also employed on numerous construction projects in the Sioux City area. He retired in 1976.

Survivors include three sons, Steven of Burlington, N.C., Darrell of Carter Lake, Iowa, and Tim of Sioux City; a daughter, Donna Lorenz of Tipton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Patrick, Ryan and Zachary Kee and Derrin Olsen; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Delores of Bremerton, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a sister, Lucille; and four brothers, Ray. Gail, Ardelle "Toots" and Darrell.
